Onboarding
Our onboarding process is structured to make your setup seamless and ensure you get the most out of your membership. Here’s what to expect:
- Activate Your Client Portal – Set up your client portal to upload and access tax documents securely.
- New Client Orientation – Get a guided portal walkthrough, review membership benefits, and schedule your Business & Tax Strategy (BTS) Session.
- Upload Documents – Submit required files, such as tax returns, EIN, and formation documents, at least 2 business days before your BTS session.
- Business & Tax Strategy Session – Meet with your accountant to develop a custom tax strategy, optimize your business structure, and discuss financial needs.
- Complete Your Setup – Apply recommendations, finalize business structuring or payroll setup, and upload any remaining documents.
Your client portal is a secure place to upload, access, and manage your tax and business documents. Follow these steps to activate your account:
- Check Your Email – Look for an invitation to activate your portal. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder or contact us.
- Click Activate – Open the email and select the “Activate” button.
- Set Up Your Account – Enter your phone number, create a secure password, and complete setup.
- Start Using Your Portal – Upload and access your important documents anytime.

The New Client Orientation (NCO) is your first onboarding session, designed to help you get started smoothly. During this session, you will:
- Get a guided walkthrough of your client portal and learn how to securely upload and access documents.
- Review your membership benefits and available services.
- Schedule your Business & Tax Strategy (BTS) Session with your dedicated accountant.
This session ensures you have everything set up and understand how to maximize your Eco-Tax membership.

To complete onboarding, please gather and upload the following:
- Last two years’ tax returns (business and personal, if applicable)
- Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS
- Articles of Formation from your state
- Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report (if filed)
The Business Tax Strategy Session is designed to provide expert guidance tailored to your business. Your accountant will review tax-saving strategies, compliance best practices, and any financial considerations relevant to your situation. If applicable, they’ll also discuss entity structuring options and help you navigate areas like payroll, sales tax, or financial planning. It’s an opportunity to get personalized insights and ensure you’re on the right track.
We recommend uploading all required documents at least two business days before your Business & Tax Strategy Session to ensure your accountant has everything needed.

Dedicated Accountant
Your dedicated accountant is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) with expertise in tax planning, compliance, and business strategy. They specialize in helping small businesses and entrepreneurs navigate tax laws and financial decisions.
Yes, you have a dedicated accountant who will work with you year-round to provide consistent guidance. If needed, you may also consult with other specialists for specific services.
You can email your accountant directly to ask questions or schedule an appointment. If you need assistance or can’t reach them, customer support is available to help.
For urgent matters, email your accountant directly. If immediate assistance is needed, our customer support team is available to help.
As part of the membership, you will have an accountant assigned to you. You will have their email address and you are free to call in and ask questions as often as you’d like and can even schedule time with your accountant for more in-depth consultations as needed. Unlike the traditional model where a client is billed for an accountant’s time, Eco-Tax members get the benefit of unlimited consultation as needed. There is no limit on how often you can communicate.
Yes, if tax filing is included in your plan, your accountant will handle business and/or personal tax return preparation. They’ll ensure everything is compliant and optimized for tax savings.
Yes! If you need bookkeeping or payroll services, your accountant can guide you through the setup process or recommend the best approach for your business.
